GYNFORMATION

We are a group of queer-feminist activists advocating for self-determination in the context of gynecological treatments from a patient perspective.

We have a right to:

Information on the topic of abortion

On the one hand, we are fighting for the right to information on the subject of abortion - this is a key reason for our initiative.

We not only need easily accessible and clear information about who offers abortions, but also about the method and price of the treatment and whether a respectful and prudent approach can be expected.

Fair advice & unbiased treatments

However, the same also applies to other gynecological treatments, some of which are offered at different prices, are difficult to access for certain groups of people or are sometimes even refused, or about which advice is not given without prejudice.

Respectful treatment during gynecological treatments

In general, gynecology is a medical specialty in which a sensitive approach is particularly important - because it often deals with questions of identity, sexuality and life planning and the examinations are often physically sensitive and intimate.

Assaultive, discriminatory or careless behavior within gynaecology can be experienced as particularly transgressive.

A directory based on your individual recommendations

Whether for abortions or other treatments, with Gynformation we want to compile a nationwide directory of gynecologists, midwives and gynecologically treating general practitioners who maintain a confidential, unbiased and professional approach and provide transparent information about forms of medical treatment. Inspired by the French collective Gyn&Co, we are building up a directory of treating persons in Germany. All based on positive recommendations, because we do not want to be a site for general/negative evaluation of gynecologists.

Did you have a good experience & want to recommend a treating person?

An aid for anyone looking for the right address

Regardless of whether you are sexually active, with whom and how many partners you have sex, whether you want to have children or not, whether you have little money, want to be addressed with certain pronouns, wear a headscarf, what you look like, whether you are HIV-positive, have experienced (sexualized) violence, no matter what gender you were assigned at birth, whether you are circumcised, whether you speak German or not, what your residence status is, whether you take drugs, use a wheelchair, are a sex worker, or or or - you should always receive professional support in your decision-making.

How does your recommendation get into the directory? What happens to your data? What is taken into account?

This site is still under construction and is not perfect. We therefore welcome constructive feedback. For example, we are currently working on translations into plain language, English and other languages, and on the accessibility of the site. If you can support us with this, for example by translating or programming, then write to us.
